Welcome to Mario Beyond Work

Hey everyone!

I’ve missed writing.

Honestly, it’s been a while. I’ve started a few blogs over the years, and while none of them ever really took off, I always enjoyed having a place to share my thoughts, experiences, and random adventures. So here I am, giving it another shot.

This time, though, I’m not chasing traffic, going viral, or trying to become the next big content creator. I simply want a space where I can write about the things I enjoy and document the parts of life that happen outside of work.

Or in my case, outside the 3 AM to 11 AM shift working for a US-based client.

That’s actually where the name Mario Beyond Work came from. This blog is about everything that happens when I close my laptop and get back to being myself.

You’ll find a little bit of everything here.

I love traveling, although my wallet occasionally reminds me that I wasn’t born rich. Over the past few months, I’ve been traveling once or twice a month, which has been amazing, but probably not the healthiest thing for my budget. I’m hoping to slow down a little and focus on more meaningful trips rather than just collecting destinations.

So far, I’ve been lucky enough to visit Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Cambodia. Every trip has taught me something new, and I’m excited to keep exploring more of the world one destination at a time.

When I’m not traveling, I’m usually deep into one hobby or another.

For years, I collected anime figures. I still love them, but lately I’ve found myself drifting into the world of Pokémon Trading Card Games. And if you’re into TCGs, you already know that’s another hobby that’s definitely not budget-friendly.

At this point, I might end up selling a few figures just to fund my Pokémon card obsession.

No promises, though.

This blog will be a mix of travel stories, hobby updates, collecting adventures, personal experiences, and whatever else I find interesting enough to write about. Think of it as a journal of life outside the office.

If you’ve somehow stumbled across this little corner of the internet, I’d love to hear from you.

What hobby are you currently spending way too much money on?

And if you had to recommend one place I should add to my travel list, where would it be?
